Why Are Foundational Truths So Important?

Foundational truths are the core beliefs we build our spiritual lives upon. Just like a natural foundation supports a building, these truths support our faith. Without a solid base, a structure becomes unstable—and the same is true for us.

When our spiritual foundation is weak, life’s pressures or the enemy’s attacks can easily shake us. The plan of the enemy is to distort our view of the foundational truths we need to build upon and receive as true revelation.

Paul understood this, which is why he prayed in Ephesians 1:17–20 that God would give believers “the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him” so that our understanding would be enlightened.

He prayed that we would grasp these essential truths: who God is, the hope of His calling, and the greatness of His power at work within us as well as riches of the glory of His inheritance in us. This inheritance is referring to what belongs to us as a born-again believer here on this earth as well as in heaven.

These foundational truths anchor our faith, strengthen our identity, and shape our relationship with God and others. As we understand them, our lives are transformed. We gain confidence, clarity, and greater effectiveness in serving others.

Statistics reveal that many Christian women feel stuck or unsure of their place in God’s Kingdom, and 76% of believers don’t know who God created them to be. This confusion is directly tied to foundational truths not being established. Without them, women often remain spiritually stuck, unsure how to move forward or what tools to use.

Foundational truths are like a child learning their ABCs and 123s—the basic building blocks for growth. In the same way, they provide believers with the spiritual foundation and tools needed to mature. Without them, we can remain “saved but stuck,” unable to fully step into who God created us to be.

When these truths are in place, everything changes. Identity becomes clear. Purpose becomes visible. Growth becomes natural.

This is the heartbeat of The Best Kept Woman: helping women build strong, unshakable foundations that empower them to stand firm and flourish in every area of life.
